"Train for the next thirty years, not the next thirty days. Move pain-free. Stay independent. Outlast the diagnosis."

The science of aging powerfully
Contrary to popular belief, the body responds to progressive strength training at every age. Adults over 50 who engage in structured resistance training show measurable improvements in bone density, muscle mass, balance, and metabolic health — often within 8–12 weeks.
Dr. Hayes's programming is built directly on this research. Every exercise is selected for its therapeutic and functional benefit, not just its aesthetic result.
✓
Sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss) is preventable and reversible through progressive training
✓
Resistance training reduces fall risk by up to 34% in adults over 65
✓
Strength training improves insulin sensitivity, bone density, and cognitive function
✓
Adults 50+ respond to training at comparable rates to younger adults — the key is appropriate programming
Selected research the program is built on
§
Progressive resistance training is associated with meaningfully reduced fall incidence in adults over 65.
Liu & Latham (Cochrane Database, 2009)
§
Adults 50+ respond to resistance training at rates comparable to younger cohorts when load is appropriately programmed.
Peterson et al. (Med Sci Sports Exerc, 2011)
§
Strength training reverses many markers of sarcopenia within 8–12 weeks of consistent training.
Westcott (Curr Sports Med Rep, 2012)
§
Combined balance + strength work produces durable improvements in gait, transfers, and independence.
Cadore et al. (Rejuvenation Res, 2013)

Dr. Robert Hayes
Functional Fitness & Longevity Specialist
Dr. Robert Hayes combines 20 years of exercise science with a doctorate in kinesiology to deliver programming that doesn't just extend your lifespan — it extends your healthspan.
After spending years in clinical rehabilitation, Robert recognized a gap: older adults were being trained with caution when they needed to be trained with intention. His Longevity Athletics model restores function, rebuilds confidence, and creates genuine athletic capacity for adults 50 and beyond. Pain-free movement is not a goal — it's the baseline.
Four things we believe
Strength is the foundation of aging well.
We don't chase a number on the scale. We chase the ability to carry your own groceries at 80.
Pain is information, not a verdict.
Every program starts with a functional movement screen. We rebuild the pattern, not just rest the joint.
Progress is measured in capacity.
Standing from the floor. Lifting the grandchild. Hiking the trail. Those are our metrics.
Slow on purpose. Stronger for it.
Periodized progression. Honest deload weeks. Twenty years of clients still training is the only proof we need.
Client Voices
More than fitness. Freedom of movement.

B
"My rheumatologist reduced three of my medications after six months of working with Robert. I can hike, play with my grandchildren, and sleep through the night. I feel younger at 64 than I did at 54. This is not hyperbole."
Off all meds
J
"Robert's approach is rigorous and grounded in actual science. No fads, no shortcuts. I competed in a senior athletic meet at 71 and placed second in my age group. My family couldn't believe it. I could."

S
"I had chronic knee pain for 11 years. Eleven years. Robert identified my movement dysfunction in the first session and built a program around it. In eight months, I hiked the Rockies for the first time in my life."
